PhD cum laude in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Cordoba in 2000. Professor at Loyola Andalucía University since 2013 and previously at ETEA, a faculty attached of the University of Córdoba (1993-2013). I have taught different subjects in the degrees of Business Administration and Management, Economics and Engineering (Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Management, Theory and Methods of Economic Decision Making) and also in the PhD programme in Data Science as well as in the Master of Research in Social Sciences (Data Collection and Preprocessing, Quantitative Methods (regression and classification), etc.). I have also given training for industrial companies in Andalusia (improvement of production processes, logistics and inventory management, etc.). Regarding research, I belong to the MICA research group at Universidad Loyola (Quantitative Research Methods and Applications) and also to the group "Artificial Learning and Neural Networks", AYRNA, at the University of Cordoba, PAI group of the Andalusian Government TIC-148 since 2000. I have participated as a researcher in several national and Andalusian research projects, and I have published more than 30 articles, (more than a half in JCR indexed journals), I have participated in almost 40 international and national conferences and I have also supervised, and continue to do so, several doctoral theses throughout my professional life. The subject matter of my research is interdisciplinary, although it focuses on two main areas: on the one hand, the application of novel computational techniques such as artificial neural networks and evolutionary algorithms, together with classical advanced statistical techniques to solve real problems in different economic sectors. On the other hand, I have been involved in another research area in which Loyola Andalucía University has a long tradition and experience: international development cooperation. My participation in this area focuses mainly on the quantitative analysis of the distribution of official international development aid among developing countries.
