Abstract |
The encyclical Caritas in Veritate affirms explicitly the need to introduce the category of gift inside the economical dynamics, not just in its periphery. Read in light of the dialogue between Catholic social teaching and economics, this assertion supposes a proof of the magisterium’s growing self-confidence. This assertion is an expression of the main points of Stefano Zamagni’s economic proposal, although read inside a larger anthropological and theological framework. Therefore, the magisterium’s demand to introduce the gift in economics is a good example of theological imagination’s contribution to social sciences. |
