In this paper, a method typically used in economics is applied to distributed decision making problems solved by model predictive control. The main purpose is to analyze the changes in certain aggregate indicators under study, which are decomposed among a number of factors. In particular, the logarithmic mean divisia index (LMDI) method is used to study how controllers contribute to the performance and how disturbances are generated. Finally, a flow network, which is a system structure that appears in many real problems such as power grids, is used as an academic case study to illustrate the proposed method.
