I specialize in the study of Gender & Migration, Transnational Families, and Culture. I teach courses in Cultural Anthropology, and Migration, as well as graduate seminars on Qualitative Research Methodologies and Gender and Human Rights. Currently, I am the Principal Investigator (co-PI) in two funded projects based in Honduras. The first one explores transnational families and the psychosocial well-being of children and their caregivers. The second project investigates the complex intersection of climate change perceptions and migration intentions. In addition to my research and teaching commitments, I serve as a member of the editorial board for the journal "Visual Studies" and I am an associate editor for the journals "World Food Policy" and “Fomento Social”. My scholarly contributions primarily revolve around gender, migration, and qualitative studies. I recently published an edited book titled "Migrant Scholars Researching Migration: Reflexivity, Subjectivity, and Biography in Research" (Routledge, 2024), and there is an upcoming book on Transnational Families (Tirant lo Banch).
