En 2010 obtuvo el titulo de Doctor en Economía. Las investigaciones en las que ha trabajado se engloban dentro del campo de la ingeniería eléctrica, ámbito donde ha desarrollado el Máster en Sistemas de Energía Eléctrica y el trabajo de investigación que le permitió obtener el titulo de Doctor en Ingeniería en 2020. El tema de investigación está relacionado con la integración de sistemas de energía renovables a la red eléctrica. Publicación de 10 artículos de investigación en revistas internacionales indexadas con factor JCR, 4 en Primer Cuartil (Q1) y 4 en Segundo Cuartil (Q2) y 2 en Tercer Cuartil (Q3). Es de destacar dos de ellos, como resultado de la colaboración internacional con el Department of Electrical Engineering,University of Warwick, Coventry CV4 7AL, United Kingdom. Adicionalmente se han publicado cinco artículos en congresos de prestigio internacional y dos contribuciones en libros , uno de ellos de la editorial Springer. Participación en siete proyectos de investigación ,cinco de ellos de larga duración, cuatro proyectos de investigación fueron concedidos en convocatorias nacionales” Plan nacional de I+D+I”, y tres en convocatorias autonómicas “Proyectos de Excelencia de la Junta de Andalucía". La participación en ellos ha sido en cuatro como investigador colaborador, en dos contratado para actividades técnicas asociadas a la investigación y uno como becario en prácticas. La Comisión Nacional Evaluadora de la Actividad Investigadora (CNEAI) le reconoció el sexenio de investigación para el tramo 2010-2018, en la convocatoria de 2018
