I specialize in the study of Gender & Migration, identity, and culture. I teach courses in Cultural Anthropology, and Migration, as well as graduate seminars on Gender and Human Rights, and Qualitative Research Methodologies. Currently I am the Principal Investigator (co-PI) in two funded projects based in Honduras. These projects are dedicated to exploring transnational families and the psychosocial well-being of children and their caregivers, as well as investigating the complex intersection of climate change and migration. In addition to my research and teaching commitments I serve as a member of the editorial board for the journal "Visual Studies" and I am associate editor for the journal of "World Food Policy".
