Abstract | Tanning waste from leather processing can be valorised to tailor-made collagen biopolymers with diverse shapes (fibers, gels, films and sponges). The obtained biopolymers have been conveniently modified using various methodologies including crosslinking with various compounds with the aim of generating waste-derived renewable biopolymers with enhanced properties which can have important and promising applications in the fields of cosmetics, medicine or veterinary. |
