Abstract The characteristics and structural performance of different urban environments can be determining factors in the health status of people. Based on the Healthy Cities project (Sanitas), the aim of this study was to examine the physical activity, nutritional adherence to Mediterranean diet, happiness and sleepiness profiles of the workers of companies involved. An observational, descriptive and transversal study was designed, with a sample of 2491 subjects. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire, the level of adherence to the Mediterranean diet by the PREDIMED project, the Pemberton happiness index and the Epworth drowsiness scale were used. Statistical analysis was performed using the chi-square test for the difference in proportions in the categories of the study variables, and the Student’s t test for independent samples to compare the values of the variable perception of happiness. The level of significance established was p <.05 for all tests. Data show high levels of sedentary lifestyle (64.7%) as well as low recommended levels of physical activity (56.6%) and average levels of adherence to a Mediterranean diet (46.8%). However, the levels of perceived happiness (M = 7.55) and normal sleepiness (73%) are better.
