Abstract The question of transparency is an essential element in the debate on social Responsibility (sR), as it highlights the commitments that have been acquired and the results obtained by the approach, increasing the credibility levels of the organizations that employ it. in concrete terms, the dissemination of information on sR might contribute to legitimizing the approach. This research examines the information on sR that is made available on line by local authorities in the United Kingdom and ireland. these two countries were selected because they represent the anglo saxon model of local government in europe. The investigation casts light on the ways in which these countries deal with this information and which aspects they pay most attention to. furthermore, by carrying out a cluster analysis, it was possible to identify certain shared patterns of behavior within a single culture of public administration. © 2014 Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
