Patricia Román is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Loyola University since 2017. She got her PhD in Experimental Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Granada (Spain). After that, she has held research and teaching positions at the University Jaume I (Spain), Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences (Germany) and The Pennsylvania State University (USA).Her research is focused on the role of executive functions in memory, language and decision making. More specifically, she is interested in the cognitive processes underlying native and non-native comprehension and she uses behavioral, neurophysiological and neuroimaging methods.  She is currently Associate Editor for Frontiers (Cognition section) and the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics. She is part of research teams in projects funded nationally and internationally and she has published in renowed journals in the field of experimental psychology and psycholinguistics such as Psychological Science, Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory and Cognition or Bilingualism: Language and Cognition.She has taught courses related to Experimental Psychology such as Memory, Perception and Attention, Learning and Conditioning and Language and Thought.
